Safety Program

The Authority takes pride in its safety policy and program. Employees are active participants in on-going training such as: CPR & First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens and Confined Space Training. The Authority has the unique advantage of having on-site training manholes for Confined Space training. 

Rockaway Valley is an active participant in the NJUA Joint Insurance Fund and has received numerous JIF Safety Excellence awards. 

The Authority also prepares an annual Right-To-Know Survey issued by the NJ Department of Health. All chemicals of any quantity used at the facility are reported to the State and also to the local fire and police departments.
